Parents of high school student who was killed files DWI lawsuit

The parents included in their DWI lawsuit, the other parents who hosted the party where alcoholic drinks were served plentiful among teenagers as well as the owner of the vehicle who left his car engine running while he steps out to a store.

The victim was 16 years old junior high student walking home and who himself came from a party and had little to drink when he was hit by the drunk driver who had stolen the car that had the engine running.

The victim’s parent said that each of those included had contributed to the terrible series of events caused by bad judgment resulting in the wrongful death of his son. His lawyer expects that the judge will find the respondents responsible and decree their proportionate blame on the tragedy.

Apart from this private lawsuit, the drunk driver, later found out to have a prior conviction, is also facing the DWI charge and manslaughter.

As can be gleaned from the parent’s lawsuit, the tragic event happened around 1:30 in the morning while the victim, being helped by another friend because they also came from a party where alcohol were served, where ran over by the drunken driver.

The lawyers for the parents said that it is a negligent act to leave your vehicle with the engine running and virtually accessible to car theft and that it is likewise negligent for the parents who hosted the drinking party where minors get hold of alcoholic drinks
